Instead of baking bread or doing puzzles, the team at Wolfgang IP decided to make a new state-of-the-art solar EV truck. The makers note: It makes watching the entire Games of Thrones and Stranger Things boxsets — again — seem rather redundant, doesn’t it?  We assembled an international team of top automotive designers, sculptors, engineers, research consultants, and marketers.

Introducing the Thundertruck solar EV truck

According to the Wolfgang team, the time is ripe for a really well-designed truck: Their baby is called Thundertruck. It’s as if a DeLorean had sex with a Cybertruck and a Saab Aero-X.

A multipurpose solar EV

Designed for off-road desert dwellers, it takes its energy from the sun, through flexible solar awnings. The awnings charge the battery when the vehicle is stationary. And I love me some solar charging!  The awnings also provide auxiliary shade for when you’re camping, fishing, BBQing, snoozing, or whittling wood. It sounds positively campcore.  The 4WD design comes with a 180 kWhg battery capacity, a 643km (400 miles) range, 800 horsepower, and 360kg (800 lb-ft) of torque. Going one step further is a 6X6 with a range of 900km (560 miles) and a 210 kWh. The EV is designed to go from 0-96km/h (60 mph) in 3.5 seconds. If they ever make a prototype, I’d be super keen to take it for a spin. But until then, I need to finish watching The Servant…
